Special Volcanic Activity Report (REAV), Bio Bio Region.

The National Geology and Mining Service (SERNAGEOMIN) – Volcano Observatory of the Southern Andes (OVDAS), announces that today, Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 4:45 local time (7:45 GMT) and 4:49 am (7:49 GMT), the monitoring stations installed near the Copahue volcano, recorded four (4) earthquakes associated with the fracturing of the rock (volcano tectonic).
The earthquake of greatest energy had a magnitude of 3.8 ML (local magnitude) and was located 16.4 km east–northeast (ENE) of the El Agrio crater.

Depth: 6.46 km
Local magnitude : 3,8(ML)
OBSERVATIONS: It should be noted the perception of the event by the community in the area of Caviahue (Argentina).
No changes were recorded in the surface activity due to the event.
The level of technical volcanic alert level remains at yellow.
