New observations made by the experts in volcanology of INETER, confirmed the existence of cracks on the southern and southeast flank of the volcano, where there has been the release of small amounts of lava and explosions during the last weekend. It was observed a glow at night.
This type of crack on the slopes of Momotombo took place on several occasions during past eruptions.
The micro-seismic activity of the volcano continues.
Seismic amplitude in real time (RSAM) remains at low and moderate values between 150 and 480 units.
The gas emission is moderate, which are mainly moved by the wind in a south–westerly direction towards Puerto Momotombo.
