Momotombo volcano‘s emissions of lava and ash stopped, confirmed yesterday the experts of the Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies and some independent experts, but nevertheless noted that earthquakes persist as emissions of gas from the volcano.

Wilfried Strauch, seismologist and an advisor to the INETER, told the press at the end of yesterday afternoon that there is no assurance that the eruption of Momotombo, which had no activity since 1905 is completely finished, but « the lava flow now seems finished.«
He added that the exhaust of gas « is at a low level. »
The independent experts who are there say that « everything is over » and confirm that there are only gas fumes.
