SUMMARY OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE VOLCANO.
The volcanic activity is moderate to high.
In the afternoon, some pyroclastic flows and emissions were observed up to 3 km high. At night incandescent blocks avalanches were observed up to 1.5 km below the summit.
At this moment the volcano is covered.
Yesterday and today, until this bulletin, the wind direction was mainly to the southeast, so falls of ash in Pillate, El Manzano , Cotaló and Macas have been reported.
TECHNICAL AND OBSERVATIONS APPENDIX
From 11:00 (TL) yesterday until 11:00 (TL) today, 29 episodes of tremor emission (TREM) lasting from minutes to hours, 39 explosions (EXP), 467 long-period events (LP ) were recorded.
Observations of emissions and ash.
During the afternoon of yesterday, the volcano remained partially covered. Pyroclastic flows associated with explosions during the afternoon, in some cases, down the West and Northwest sides up to 1000m below the crater level were generated. Emission columns up to 3 km altitude, with a high load of ash and incandescent blocks that rolled on the slopes during the explosions were also observed.
During the night, a glow was observed in the crater and block descended to 1,500 m below the crater level.
Today, the volcano remained cloudy.
Ash falls were reported during the night and this morning in the sectors of Pillate, El Manzano, Cotaló and Macas.
Bulletin on March 10:
From 11:00 (TL) yesterday until 11:00 (TL) today, 16 episodes of tremor emission (TREM), 10 explosions (EXP), 321 events long period (LP) and two volcano-tectonic events (VT) were recorded.
Observations emissions and ash.
In the afternoon of yesterday, with the explosion of 3:10 p.m. TL, steam emission was observed with a moderate load of ash up to 2,000 meters above the crater that is directed towards the West and southwest.
In the night, the cameras recorded gas and ash emissions, it has been observed jets of incandescent blocks up to 300 m below the level of the crater, a small pyroclastic flow descended about 1500 meters in the ravine Achupashal north.
This morning, until the time of this report, the sector of the volcano is covered .
