South Volcano Observatory (OVS) from the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP), been recorded since 4:40 yesterday morning moderate gas emissions and ash emissions on the Ubinas volcano . This behavior corresponds to a lightweight volcanic degassing of the system, which discharges and that do not exceed 1000 meters above the bottom of the crater.
The South Volcano Observatory (OVS), the Volcano Observatory INGEMMET (OVI), and institutions of the Scientific Committee of the permanent monitoring of the volcano Ubinas issued in the early hours of yesterday the ash warning dissemination in which they warned against possible falls of this material in the towns of Santa Rosa de Phara, Lucco, Yalagua and Lloque, located in the northeast of the volcano.
With the passing of the hours, the wind drove the ash to the east and south, towards the villages of Escacha, Ubinas.
“The activity of the volcano Ubinas shows a slight downward trend; However, under its current eruptive process, small surprises related to continuous ash emissions can be seen. The OVS is attentive to the possibility of recording a high intensity event “, said Dr. Orlando Macedo, director of the OVS.
The institutions expect that these emissions continue during the day, so it is recommended around the volcano to take precautions to avoid damage to his health.
