LP type of earthquakes associated with fluid movements, showed increased activity in the previous period with a peak of 362 LP on September 30th. Since then, they have shown a downward trend, currently 150 LPs / day was observed (for 244 LP / day -Report Nº41-2015). In addition, the energy values are low.
With regard to the hybrid seismic activity associated with magma ascent, it shows weak but persistent levels. During this period, there was an average of 14 HIB / day (slightly above the average for the previous week). The energy levels of these hybrid events are low.
The type of VT seismicity (earthquakes rock fracturing) has a tendency to decrease continuouly. This week there were 67 VT / day (Nº41-2015 Report showed 97 VT / day). Low energy values are observed. This means that the internal pressure decreases.
Tremor type events relating to ash emissions have accumulated over this period 3.7 hours recording. 57% of this activity took place on September 30 and is associated with ash emissions during that day.
During this period, there were no explosions / expirations.
Between 29 and October 5, have been observed emissions of ash from the volcano Ubinas. With the camera Campbell Scientific, the occurrence of these events helped to further develop the ash fall alerts respectively in affected villages that were warned.
The first of these events took place on September 29 at 3:31 p.m. exactly local time. The ash plume rose to 2000 meters and was dispersed by the wind to the north, east and southeast of the volcano. The second showed up the next day, September 30, at 16:30 am. This time, the ash reached only 1400 meters above the base of the crater and were scattered to the south and southeast of the Ubinas
After these events, no major ash emission was recorded. The fumaroles activity in recent days is represented by sporadic gas emissions and water vapor.
The system Mirova has not detected thermal anomalies during this period.
