The Ubinas volcano recorded another explosion yesterday. afternoon, according to El Comercio.
The volcano located in the Moquegua region erupted, sending ash 1,500 meters high and which are fall on the community of San Carlos de Titi. The Volcano Observatory of the Institute of Geology, Mining and Metallurgy (INGEMMET) reported the explosion at 3:56 p.m.
The wind sent ashes in a northerly direction, affecting the city of San Carlos de Titi. Institute experts have also reported the expulsion of rocks and a sulfur smell in the villages of the valley Ubinas according to El Comercio. The last week of July saw the most powerful explosion of the volcano throughout the year. The INGEMMET and the Observatory’s report indicates that magma is rising under the volcano and therefore is causing explosions.
