Yellow alert remains in place for the Ubinas volcano .
Due to the low activity of the Ubinas volcano, located in the Moquegua region, the Geological Survey, Mining and Metallurgy (Ingemmet), recommends keeping the alert in yellow.
According to the monitoring conducted in the last week, continuing low levels of seismic-volcanic activity (less than 7 earthquakes per day) and fumarolic emissions are very faint, like pulses that are scattered below 200 meters height above the crater of the mountain. Also it indicates that volcanic gas emissions (SO2) of less than 1800 Ubinas are tons per day.

As for the Sabancaya, located in Arequipa, the Ingemmet also realizes that the seismicity of this volcano is very low, with minimal presence of tremors minimum energy. In addition, fumarolic emissions are recorded below 1,000 meters above the crater, while the flow of volcanic gas (SO2) reaches a maximum of 2000 ton daily.
The Ingemmet indicates no deformation of the Ubinas and Sabancaya volcanoes associated to an eruptive process. That institution recommends that the authorities and people kept continuously informed about it’s activity through Volcano Observatory reports.
