Our guided tour on the “road of Chilean wine” offers an original way to visit the country accompanied by a local english speaking guide who will share with you his passion of wine and of his country. You will discover the beautiful Chilean vineyards and taste the best wines.

Three days to learn about Chilean oenology, visiting original and famous wine estates, such as the  Casa Marin, the only Chilean wine estate owned by a woman, or the organic wine estate of Huelquen.

DAY 1: SANTIAGO – ISLA NEGRA – SANTA CRUZ
Early departure towards the East to reach Isla Negra, a charming bay surrounded by costal pine trees. Here we can visit the museum of Pablo Neruda, Chilean poet and writer, Nobel Prize Winner in 1971.
By late morning we arrive at the wine estate of Casa Marin (or similar).
A specialist guide will explain the history of this vineyard, the description of this special soil due to the cold climate and the way they work which makes this vineyard so particular. After visiting the production area we will visit the cellar before visiting the vineyard.
The visit will end with wine tasting of three fine wines. Then a visit to the Chocolan vineyard (or similar). Wine tasting of four wines: a premium white wine, a wine “Réserve” and two “Grande Réserve” accompanied with dried fruits.

Transfer to Santa Cruz (approx 3h15)
Check in at hotel Santa Cruz Plaza**** (or similar) – Night at hotel.

DAY 2: SANTA CRUZ
In the morning, we visit the Colchagua Museum, which owns more than 5000 objects representing the Chilean culture.
The rest of the morning will be spent visiting the Viu Manent vineyard (or similar). In 1935 Don Miguel Viu Manent and his sons founded an association dedicated to the commercialisation of wines. Thirty years later this family business became one of the most important vineyards of the region and is still working with all the modern technology of today.
In the afternoon, visit of the Montgras vineyard (or similar): general information of wine growing, visit to the vineyards and gardens with a variety of then wine tasting of two “Réserve” wines.

DAY 3: SANTA CRUZ/SANTIAGO
Today we take the road towards the north and the valley of Colchagua and Cachpoal.

Visit of the Montes vineyard (orsimilar). The Alpata estate gives the visitor the possibility of discovering the typical vegetation of the central part of Chile on a nature trail and at the same time admiring the panoramic view. The natural environment has always played an important part in the Chilean culture. The vegetation is rich and very representative of this area with more than a 100 different species and an important percentage of ‘endemic’ plants. Followed by a walk of about 3km on the Divisadero hill near the vineyards.
Next will be a visit of the Perez Cruz vineyard (or similar). Wandering through the vineyard and wine cellars with a guide and finishing with wine tasting of two different wines.

Transfer to Santiago, evening meal – Night at hotel.

DAY 4:
Transfer to Santiago airport and an international flight for those leaving Chile.

Santiago: Hotel Montecarlo*** or similar
Santa Cruz : Hotel Santa Cruz Plaza**** or similar

Catering:
Meals will be taken together in small local restaurants

Group size: This tour will only be operated with a minimum of 8 participants per departure; maximum group size is 20 participants.
