Suite of the news from Bromo, through our correspondents in the field:
Not much new to Bromo yesterday. The activity is regular (according observatory and seismograms). Always a pretty clear panache with by moment louds emission columns!
The observations are mostly in the morning in good weather. Rain showers in the afternoon (small lahars sources or small floods in the caldera … The ravinage is underway!)
Note that the Semeru seems active with several plumes some of which very gray that go up high enough (little wind!)
We also see in the distance a small plume above Raung (not regularly observed only once!)
In fact this evening there was a big phase of a very heavy plume for at least one or two hours, but the observation was difficult because of the clouds and rain! (Then the arrival of the night!).
The seismic data obtained showed sharp spikes, which depicted eruptions and quakes. The volcano is still experiencing tremors with maximum amplitudes of 2-17 millimeters. The PGA also recorded 62 eruptions with maximum amplitudes of 16-36 millimeters with earthquakes lasting between 10 and 53 seconds.
Apparently Tom Pfeiffer confirms the activity of Raung view by Sylvain. He said the new ash cone has two main vents; the smallest at the SW produced intermittent, sometimes continuous jets of ash.
