An eruption of Gunung Lokon was held in Tomohon, North Sulawesi, on August 29, 2015 at 11:48:56 p.m. h. The eruption was accompanied by loud rumblings that were heard from Mount Lokon and Mahawu observation post , located 5.5 km to the east of Mount Lokon. A column of ash eruption of 1500 meters, thick, gray–white color, was dispersed by a light wind to the north and northeast. The length of the eruption recorded on the seismograph had a duration of 575 seconds. Coordination with protection services is always carried out by the PVMBG regularly and it alerted to 20h00 (3-4 hours before the eruption). So far G. Lokon is still at the level of activity : ALERT (level III). People do not move within 2.5 km around the crater Tompaluan .

Bright, calm wind, the mountain looks clear this morning.
A thick grayish white smoke rises from the crater Tompaluan to a height of 200-300 m.
Have been registered:
3 distant tectonic events max amplitude of 3 to 20 mm, 50 to 90 sec period.
1 local tectonic event, max 40 mm amplitude, duration of 3, 5 sec.
26 volcanic events shallow max amplitude of 3-12 mm, length 3-10 sec.
30 volcanic emission events of 5-47 mm max amplitude, duration 15-70 sec.
Tremor: amplitude of 0.5 to 45 mm.
G. Lokon is Level 3 (ALERT). There is no activity within a radius of 2.5 kilometers around the crater Tompaluan of Mount Lokon .
