Based on visual observations of Soputan after the eruption of February 6, 2016, the visual conditions have allowed to observe white smoke, fine, moderately high (from 50 to 200 m). At night no glow was observed.
Seismicity of Soputan shows a decrease of avalanches earthquakes and from the volcanic tremor. On April 20 2016, seismographs recorded 13 avalanche earthquake events, 4 earthquakes and 1 swarm of distant tectonic earthquake (TJ). The graph RSAM is still high in visible volatile energy, but on a downward trend.
Measurements of seismic amplitude spectra (SSAM) in seismic stations SOP, WNR and SLN showed the downward trend of volcanic activity, indicating a decrease in pressure in the magmatic system of Soputan
Based on the analysis and evaluation of seismic and visual surveillance, from April 21, 2016 at 12:00 , the activity levels of Soputan change from level III (SIAGA) to Level II (waspada).
The intensive continuous monitoring conducted to evaluate the activity of G. Soputan well as providing information on the danger of the eruption of Mount Soputan continues to make clear to people around the Soputan the dangers of the phenomenon.
If there is significantly a decrease / increase in volcanic activities of the Soputan , the activity level can be lowered / raised in accordance with the level of activity and threats.
